Blessington Family Practice has been one of our loyal customers from the very start. Their practice consists of a main surgery in Blessington and secondary surgery that is connected remotely through VPN in Ballymore Eustace
The main network consists of Server Std 2012 acting as both a domain and file server running SQL Express 2012. The network has 6 clients accessing the practice manager software database. Along with a mapped drive to the server.
The remote surgery in Ballymore needed live access to the scheduler and patient data for labs results etc..
To solve this task, we setup a VPN between both locations to ensure a secure connection. The clients in Ballymore could not connect to the Practice Management software directly. As we found that files would get corrupted over the slow broadband connection. To work around this issue. We installed Hyper-v on the server in Blessington and setup a virtual machine for each client to remote desktop from Ballymore.
